The refuge

Nestled in the majestic setting of the Southern Rhaetian Alps, in the picturesque Val d'Avio, the Rifugio Malga di Mezzo (1950 metres a.s.l.) overlooks the splendid Lago Benedetto, one of the valley's five catchment basins. Immersed in the wild beauty of the mountains, the hut offers not only an oasis of peace and tranquillity, but also an ideal starting point for exploring the natural wonders of Alta Val Camonica.

Very clean and cosy hut.
Fantastic managers! always at the door ready to welcome you, very nice and friendly. Eaten and slept very well. Fantastic view of Lake Benedetto. Very convenient location because from there you can get to the Garibaldi refuge in just 2 hours.
Shelter in a beautiful location!
We stopped by today on our way back from a hike: it only took time to enjoy two drinks to appreciate and be won over by the friendliness of the young managers. Nice to find people with the desire to tell and listen! I will definitely be back to visit next summer, to have lunch with that wonderful view! Good work guys!!!

Martina and Matteo are to be commended for their commitment and the warmth with which they welcome you into their brand new, clean hut with a lovely view. We stopped for lunch and ate well and drank good beer. The hut also offers overnight accommodation in a communal dormitory, with a hot shower. Everything is very tidy and the smell of wood is everywhere.

At the foot of Mount Avio (2962), in the shadow of the Step of the Gorges, Wide (2804), the Refuge Hut in the Middle was built and completed by the Municipality of Edolo (BS) on the ruins and the ruins of the homonymous old hut, used for sheep farming.
Thanks to its privileged location, the lodge offers access to a wide network of well-marked trails, and is the ideal point of departure for your excursions, trips, and ascended in the beautiful surroundings.
